I have a Dayton 1TDR3 blower motor for my wood

First off, There are 2 different kinds of dimmer controls. One that says for incandescent lights only, and one that is for fan motors only. Secondly it would never blow the circuit unless you wired everything very very wrong. Draw on a piece of paper the power wires the load wires and where you would like to wire the switch. draw the white wires marretted together and wire the load to one of the switch wires and the live to the last switch wire.

I have a Dayton Pahse 1, 3/4 HP motor that shows

there should be a diagram on the label for 110 or 220v-are you sure the last garage you ran it in was 220-it should only run at one of those levels without re-wiring the motor-cheers Denny
