Datacard SD260 turns on up to *** then does not do anything
It sounds like your Datacard SD260 is experiencing a problem during the initialization process. Here are some things you can try to fix the issue:
- Press and hold the "Cancel" button while turning on the machine. This will perform a cold boot and may help reset the machine.
- Check to make sure the firmware on the machine is up to date. If it is not, update it to the latest version.
- Try connecting the machine to a different computer to see if the issue is with the computer or the machine.
- Check for any loose or disconnected cables and ensure that all cables are securely plugged in.
- Try a different power outlet or power source.
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to contact Datacard for further assistance or service.
It is important to note that, the above steps are general troubleshooting steps, and the actual problem can be caused by different things, so it is best to consult a service manual for your specific Datacard SD260 or contact the manufacturer for more detailed and accurate information.
MY DATACARD PRINTER GIVING AN ERROR MASSAGE CAND NOT IN POSITION
Perform a cleaning on your printer, and then also manually clean the card-position sensors with IPA alcohol wipes or swabs. The error typically occurs when the sensors are not properly "seeing" the card as it is pulled from the hopper, and/or when it is moved forward & back within the printer during the print process. It can also occur if your transport rollers are worn (either due to age or due to heavy use).
If the above isn't helpful, go back to your selling dealer to see whether your printer is still under warranty. If in the USA, and you don't have a dealer relationship, feel free to reach out to us for help.
Good luck!

Datacard sp35 plus for windows 7 32 bit
Sorry, but this printer is out of production and out of support by the manufacturer, and considered obsolete. They no longer make the drivers available for this model on their website.
Datacard sp 75 plus printer not detected by cpu
Have to ask - did you download and install the printer driver programs prior to connecting the printer for the first time via USB? If not, disconnect the printer; go to the Datacard website to obtain the latest driver version; install while logged in with a Windows Admin ID AND with "Run as Administrator" option, then only power-on and connect the printer when prompted to do so. Note there are driver versions for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows - through Win10 - so make sure you pick the one to match your installed OS.
You can/should also try on an alternate PC as a test. It could be you have a bad USB port on the printer (easy to break by bumping into the connector on the back of the printer while it is plugged in).
Good luck!

Datacard SP25 Plus Connection
DR-00914 The Printdriver could not be started correctly
That's a "Legacy" printer from Datacard, and the driver hasn't been touched since 2016. There have been a number of changes to Windows10 since then, particularly in the area of driver security where digitally signed drivers are now a requirement. It MAY be that there's an incompatibility issue now in 2019, that didn't exist back in 2016 when the driver was last updated. If that's the case, it is unlikely to be addressed by the manufacturer, as the printer has been out-of-production for so long.
The one thing you can attempt that perhaps you didn't do yet is:
1. Disconnect the printer from your PC;
2. Completely uninstall the Datacard driver from your PC;
3. Reboot your PC;
4. Log in to your PC with a Windows ID that has Windows administrator rights;
5. Either download a fresh copy of the SP25 Plus driver, or navigate to where you last downloaded the install package.
6. Right-click on the device-driver install package and select "Run as Administrator" to initiate the installation, and proceed through as normal. Do NOT connect the printer until instructed to do so by the installation routine.
After the install completes, you should be no worse off than with your previous attempts, and it may be that the Run as Admin has cleared up the issue. If not, then it may be time to shop for an updated piece of hardware. Let us know if we can help.
