well im not a doctor , but I do know about metals a lot . rust is oxidized steel , that at least a good part of it is the mineral iron, now ive heard that your blood needs iron daily to keep healthy , its just I do not believe that the rust enhances the taste of your food

In a normal installation, there is a plate that mounts to the wall and bolts come down through the cabinet. Once the bolts are removed from the cabinet above mic, the mic should hindge forward. It takes two people to handle. How ever, in some cases an installation guy will add screws into the side of the unit. So look for some screws to the right and left of mic. Good luck!

Yes, the light bulb base needs to come out so that you can replace the whole unit (bulb & base.) These lamps are known for separating when you try to remove them. I would recommend a needle-nosed pliers to get the base out. If you need to unscrew it and can't get ahold of it with pliers, you might try using a carrot! Cut the carrot a short ways down from the stem, then push the cut end into the socket and unscrew it.

If the capillary tubes are visible on the back, take a hammer and lightly tap on them about every half inch all the way around to break up the grunge.

How old? still under warranty? If near it's end of life it may cost less to replace with a lightly used rather than the cost of service or repair. Explore both options.
