Press 1 3 7 9 and the number of the region you want to use between 0 and 6. Use 0 for region free. You may need to press these buttons slowly. You will see XXXX on the TV. When you press the last number, it will display at the top left of the screen.

Now insert a disc (other than your own region) into the player and close it. It should load and play. Other region discs should play as well. If you didn't do it correctly it will display "Wrong Region".

When you turn off the DVD player it will keep the settings.

You can only copy non-commercial VHS tapes that you have recorded yourself to DVD. You can\'t make copies of most commercially made VHS movies due to copy-protection.

I don't know if this will work, but try opening your dvd player with no dvd inside and with your controls press 0000 this hopefully will bring up a screen where your region settings are. Set it to 0 and press okay. This may make your dvd region free and should be able to play any dvds form any region

The Disc needs to be finalised. Using the setup menu and disc info you select "finalize disc". I had the same problem.

on a combo unit ,insert the vcr tape and then put a blank dvd r /rw in to unit , you should then press rec button and records to dvd.


note you cant copy proteceted tapes due to the macrovision
