It does not start at all. What should I look for?

Check for power. Check the on/off switch for power. Check the motor reset button if it is tripped, push it in. Check the pressure switch for power, check if the pressure switch makes contact if there is power.

Air compressor will not build pressure past 20psf

You may have dropped a valve in the compressor. Same thing happened to my compressor, and I've not actually been able to fix it.

Regulator Problem. Both Gauges stay at same pressure when trying to adjust the outlet pressure for tool settings

It sounds like a contaminated regulator, possibly due to moisture if you have never drained the tank. If it is a cheap air compressor then the best course of action would be to install another regulator as it is not worth the time to try to rebuild the regulator as most likely it is not a quality part. I would look into Wilkerson or Speedair brand parts to fix your issue.

I can't find a replacement

Hi you have to bring the old capacitor to a electric motor shop so they can match it up or write the name and numbers off the motor and give it to them and I am sure they should be able to match one up.

I have a Craftsman 125 psi 1.5 hp 3 gallon air compressor. When I plug it in and turn on I see a blue arc come from somewhere. How do I fix this?

If the blue arc is coming from the motor it might be an older motor that uses brushes. If the motor is serviceable you would need to take apart the motor and change the brushes. Blue arcs don't usually come from shorts

Air compressor tank will not fill?

STOP. What pressure does the gauge show? If it's higher than it should be, drain the tank and replace the pressure switch. If it's not unusually high, then replace the pressure relief valve. DO NOT let that compressor run at too high air pressure! A burst air compressor is a TERRIFIC bomb, and can kill you before you know what happened!

I have a craftsman air compressor and I can't get it to build up pressure. What could be the problem?

Could be a faulty compressor its self. Leaky hoses or lines. Mine had a tiny rust hole in the tank its self and had to get it welded. Is your pressure setting up where they should be. mine has settings where you turn a knob to set pressure up or down for different operations. These are just ideas to help Good luck.

My Craftsman 15 Gal Air Compressor trips the electric breaker at start up

Just fixed my compressor. It would start ok when the tank was empty but trip the breaker if it tried to start with pressure. Searched and read about weak caps, or problem with check valve or pressure switch leaving pressure in the pump head, etc. Turned out that the black plastic box which holds the 2 start up caps and is attached to the end of the motor with 2 screws had cracked on the bottom. The black box had tilted out enough that the start up caps switch was not engaging. Pushed on the lower part of the box and it started perfectly. Fixed it for the cost of some 2 part epoxy. Maybe not your fail, but definitely worth checking out first.

Craftsman air compressor will not shut off

w/o other details, one can only presume that the tank pressure switch has be adjusted to high or it has failed/broke. Adjust pressure downward (if not already). Replace tank switch.

No torque on my impact #875 198641

If you are trying to loosen or tighten a bolt or nut the the impact just stops more than likely there is a problem in the hammer (clutch) mechanism (items# 24 through 30), there could be broken part causing the mechanism to jam, the hammer (clutch) needs to hit and then slip to let the motor turn as they are directly coupled (no gears). On the flip side in the motor there are vanes (blades) (item# 17) that need to have free movement and could also cause a condition were the motor could have low power or cause a locked condition. How do I fix my air compressor ?

Drain the air all the way off and see if that helps. If it does, you may want to replace the check valve on the top of the tank.
