I have a vintage guitar made by Conn with serial number 79-0908, model C74 I need a manufactors date

Getting date information on lesser known instrument brands (Conn horns are one thing, guitars are another) can be difficult. in this case, Conn wouldn't have made the guitar, but would have sourced it from a offshore maker. I suspect it would be made by Samick. Generally, the first two numbers are the year on Samick products, so probably 1979.

Please help me date my mothers guitar by Conn

Your Mom's guitar was made in Japan and first produced for schools; however the necks were like telephone poles so they quit making them for awhile and came back out later on. Some later versions were quite good. I would go with the Kelly Bluebook on Acoustic guitars. Thanks! Guitarpickher -certified guitar tech and all around nuts about loving guitars of all kinds!

Peavey cs1000 x

The most likely case is that one of the main output transistors (if which there are many) is shorted. When the protect circuit senses DC on the final output, it will not allow the output relay to come on to protect the speakers from raw DC. With the power removed, you can check between each outputs Emitter and Collector and you will probably find close to zero ohms. From that point you need to unsolder each of the pins of the bad channel until you find the shorted device(s) and replace them.
