Are you trying to use it while plugged into your pc? If you are trying after charge (disconnected from pc) You may want to try hooking it back up. manually clear it, Don't delete everything first create a desktop folder then drag and drop all folders from your device to that folder you just created on the desktop. This you can label if you want or level it with the default name. When everything is done you can go back to your device and delte everything you added.When done disconnet and try using it as you normally would. Sometimes if too much is placed on mp3 places they stop responding because they have to read everything and are very limited on speed and memory. If it works, gradually re-add from the folder you created as a temp placement. I say try just doing have of what you had on it. Unplug and try again. Next add only have of what is left in the desktop temp folder you made. and try again. Should you not have much on it, could just be a problem with the unit itself. I'm not certain with your model/brand but you be able to use it while it is plugged into your pc. to try this do a few things first press and hold each but until you main menu screen appears. Usally about 3-5 sec. Should it not switch then try using the safely remove hardware and eject media feature found on your taskbar in the notification area. if it goes to your menu screen then it may just be a problem with the battery not holding a charge. If it is under warranty contact the company or try returning it to the place of purchase. I have 4 MP3's a SANSA C210, SANSA FUZE, MACHSPEED ECLIPSE and a GPX ML961. Both c210 and fuze are no longer made. Eclispe is junk and you will never hear from the company should you have a problem. GPX is a nice unit. It hase a better camera built-in and a slightly larger screen. When you connect your mp3 player to the PC. It should open up a file with the name of the device in my computer / scroll down to find the device, click and minimize the window,open the music file and drag and drop.

all you have to do is hold the select button and the power button at the same time for about 5 seconds. or you can insert a paper clip into the reset button. it wont reset your MP3 it will just unfreeze

If you know anyone who can solder surface mounted parts they can probably solder it back. Sounds like usb connecter has come loose from the circuit board.
