Casio exilim ex-z60 won't retain date
Your camera ay have another very small battery similar to what computer mother boards have. I think the baery you are charging controls mostly operation and flash.
How can i fix my camera which displays LENS ERROR when i switch it on?
This is not an easy fix. Lens is not driving out to the correct position. It can be caused by dirt getting into the drive gears or if the camera being dropped. A sensor could be bad and I am sure there can be other reasons. The lens has to extend out to it's home position and then auto focus. If that doesn't happen you will get the error.
Battery won't hold a full charge
batteries don't have a life forever. And no one can predict the life time of a battery.
So many factors influence the lifetime. But if it is draining very fast, this mostly means it has reached the end of life. If the camera does not get excessive hot, it has nothing to do with the camera. It is just you need a new battery.
To keep a battery in shape for a longer time you should charge it also when the camera is not used. Like at least 4 times a year. Always charge the battery a day before you plan to use it. Don't over charge, like charging it every day. Don't leave it in the bright sun or on a hot place.
A new battery, should be charged and discharged a few times, before it gets a full charge.
The "New" battery you bought, could be in stock for a long time. Special when you could buy it very cheap.
Perhaps in a few days you say, he the battery works fine now. But if you did charge it 3 or more times and it still does not hold a charge. send the battery back (I hope you bought one with warranty)

How download firmware?
one. there is no firmware for the Z1200 to download, unless Casio says so.
two.
You can't put in other firmware in any device if it does not work perfect.
Updating a bad working apparatus by trying to change firmware is the only thing you should not try.
You will end with a device that can't be used for anything. Any defect will be pinter to as self induced.
This link will show you for what camera's Casio released updates of the firmware:

Card locked cant unlock
you have to take it apart the card has a switch on the side which bumps a pin insided the camera which grounds out the camera to lock it. You have to take it apart and pry that little tab out just a bit so no connection and it will work great. I just did it and no issues.
Casio Exilim Z57 Date and Language set up
OK, here's the fix. This camera has internal flash memory that is used to store settings and can be used for limited picture storage. Its use for saving setting is essential, however. If this gets corrupted then the camera won't save settings. Whoever said to format the internal memory had the right idea.
After much experimentation here's how. Remove your SD memory from the camera and turn it on. This will force it to run on the internal memory only. Run through the time/date/location setup again. It will complain about the memory card. Ignore this and press menu. Under Setup, select format. Choose format memory card and do it. This will format the internal memory. Once it is done, turn the camera off and back on. You'll notice that the problem is gone and it has remembered your last setup.
BTW, my camera is a EX-Z75. Not sure there is a Z57 model.
