This is to do with the function you select on the top wheel. In certain modes some functions are not available. Check your manual.

You need to change the camera's USB connection mode from "PC" to "Print/PTP" in camera setting menu. After that it should be recognized by Windows 7 without drivers.

They are under-exposed. Either open the aperture more, or use a slower shutter speed, but beware of camera shake.

There is no video mode on the Xti. The first Canon Digital Rebel to be equipped with video was the T1i, which came out almost 5 years later (2 years ago).

The max Shutter speed is 1/4000 to select this put the camera in Tv mode i.e. Timed value or shutter priority

You'll need a Mac connection to do this as the cable provided is a normal USB cable. The 350D doesn't have a wireless function

F stop motor/mechanism is stuck on wide open - consequently you get terrible over exposures. And if it does not work on manual I doubt if it will work on auto setting. Repair will be very expensive.

Absolutely. Glue away. These mirrors of course in no way effect image quality, but you still want to be careful with the glue, and make sure the mirror stays aligned so it's free to flip up. Hope this helps .

There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of books with such suggestions, but I've found that even at night, the automatic settings on my Canon EOS Rebel are amazingly good. I recommend "The Joy of Photography", if it's still in print, by "The Editors of Eastman Kodak Company". An excellent old book that covers all the basics. The nighttime pictures I've taken were done by setting the aperture to something mid-range, and letting the camera choose the time of exposure, and taking several pictures with different settings for "over" and "under".
