General instructions: clean the basket-filter-screening of your Singer Juice Giant Model 774: First, unplug the juicer from the power source and disassemble it. Remove the pulp container and the juice jug. Locate the basket-filter-screening and gently twist it counterclockwise to remove it from the juicer. Rinse the basket-filter-screening under running water to remove any pulp or debris. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away any remaining residue. Rinse the basket-filter-screening again and dry it with a clean towel. Reassemble the juicer. If you need more detailed instructions, you can refer to the manual for your product

There is a spring operated probe that goes into the base and is part of the safety interlock. Yours is stuck. Funny, I answered this question yesterday. Remove the lid and spray in some WD40 into the hollow exterior channel part of the bowl. Then operate the spring with a cocktail stick or similar. The spring isn't rising to release the bowl from the base.

Try with Granny Smith apples and make sure they are this season and not last years. Also try the juicer with oranges to prove it is the apples and not the juicer. Peel 4 medium size oranges and place in the juicer.


Juicing Tip: When juicing oranges (or any kind of citrus fruit) it is a good idea to juice the white membranes at the center of the orange. The majority of the bio-flavonoids in citrus fruits are found in the white membranes. Scrape off some of the white membranes inside the peel and include them in the juice. We don't recommend juicing the whole peel, this will produce a very sour unpleasant juice.

I just had the same problem with my juicer. Here's what I did to solve it. FIRST, UNPLUG IT!. Next, take all the accessory parts off of it. Then, turn the base unit upside down and shake it around a bit. Then put it back on the counter in the regular upright position and start jiggling the power switch back and forth. After I did this, the power switch started moving again.

It could be the fuse is bad and the cord is also bad too. The fuse inside of the juicer and the power cord will both need to be replaced.If the motor has quit working then you will have to buy another juicer.

The is nothing on it apart from people selling them and no manual available. Normally, you remove the top. Then you remove the macerator, the part with the teeth. Then finally the basket. You wipe out the machine with a wet cloth and put it back together again after washing rinsing and drying the removable parts. This is a vintage machine and no manual exists. The closest I can find is the MJ-66.
