There are 6 rubber plugs in the top covering screws , 2 are all at hidden under the handle ends , the handle can be lifted to about 45 degrees and teased out an end at a time to gain access, the top then removes giving access to more screws which when removed along with screws under the bottom and inside the tank compartment allow the front and back to be removed for access

With your unit switched off, vacuum them with a brush attachment. If still dirty, you can spray with a degreasant spray and then gently rinse with a towel under the coils. Dry with a hair dryer. That is how refrigeration techs do it.

cont button just means continuous run mode . the power light is lit , the full light is out . try reseating the water catch bucket a few times , most machines have a safety that wont allow the thing to operate if bucket isn't just perfect in its slot (you don't want water on your floor )

Just fixed this problem with my DES14. Its a fault with the circuit board inside the machine and is very easy to fix, even for a novice. Here is how to do it: 1) Open up the machine by removing the screws in the case. (Make sure it is unplugged!) 2) Locate the circuit board on the side of the unit. 3) At this point you have two options. If you want a unit with full functionality you need to buy a replacement circuit board. I found one on MasterSpares (http://www.mastersparesonline.com/product/index/10147) It costs about 30 pounds. Simply remove the old board and replace it. 4) If you want a working unit for no extra cost (but without the functionality of the humidistat) then remove the rectangular white connector from the circuit board which has red,blue,white and yellow wires entering it. Add an extra wire between the central white wire and the red wire that is adjacent to the yellow. (see photo). 5) Re-assemble the unit. If you have opted for the free option the unit will work when you plug it in and switch it on but will no longer cut in and out with different humidities (or have the annoying warm up period). Thankfully the water overflow cut-out will still work. Hope it works for you! Feel free to ask if you are confused!

Hi, I have the same issue. I took off the plastic backside and managed a work around by removing the brown cable from the micro switch. It is now running again, but it won't get a signal when the water container is full ... so be aware when you start running it !

Impossible to diagnose without a full make and model, but likely a sensor issue. Your Google search query would be make model error code E9 https://www.google.com/search?q=dehumidifier+code+e9 ..

It works by chilling a set of fins like a freezer. It probably needs gas. Get inside it and feel the evaporator with it running. Keep away from the fan though.

Does it run after you get to the optimal humidity level? If so, it's a bad humidity sensor switch A cheap fix is to put it on a timer. Otherwise replace the switch.
