I am going to assume you are using the Auto Document Feeder for when you are copying and faxing.When you lift the scanner top (As if you are placing a single document on the scanner glass) there is a small strip of glass to the left (normally) of the main scanner glass. This is the ADF scanner location. You will find that there will be two marks on this glass at the points you get lines on copied and faxed documents. Normally this is ballpoint ink that was not completely dried when fed through the ADF or Twink (Whiteout) that was not completely dry when fed through the ADF. Using rubbing alcohol or other cleaning products of similar gender clean this mess off the glass. If it does not come off it could be actual scratches on the glass which can only be fixed by replacing the glass.

1. Turn off the P-touch.
2. While holding down the Shift key and the "R" keys, press the On/Off key once and then release the "Shift" and the "R" keys.
3. "English" should be on the display and then press . If "English" did not display, repeat steps 1 thru 2.

The Brother Linux scanner driver works only with a superuser by default. To use it with a normal user, you will have to make some settings. It sounds as though you are sending in halftones not in std resolution. i have not seen a 510 in a long time and cannot remember the layout of the buttons. i think there is a resolution button. just press it until you see standard come up on the display.

Setting the Ring Delay

The Ring Delay setting determines the number of times the machine

rings before it answers.

1 Press Menu, 2, 1. .

2 Press Z or X to select RING DELAY.

3 Press Set.

4 Press Z or X to select how many times the line rings before the

machine answers.

5 Press Set when the screen displays your selection.
6 Press Stop to exit.

Hi,
Open the front cover and gently pull the paper towards the front of the device. Close the cover and press the "Stop/Exit" button.

If you still receive the message then perform a reset.

You need to keep pressing the DOWN or UP to keys a couple of times until you see 'Maintenance 99' displayed on the display. Hold down the 'Set' button to go to stand by mode. Please note that if you press the exit key only after typing in a single digit the machine goes to maintenance mode in initial stages.

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage. Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

The problem you are having is that your Fax machine has changed its dial setting to pulse dialing but should be set to tone dialing.

When your fax machine is in FAX/TEL (F/T) mode, it answers with a
short beep. After this beep, the fax machine listens for CNG tones, and,
if heard, it will respond with receiving tones.

The fax "handshake" is the time in which the sending machine's CNG
tones and the receiving machines "chirps" overlap. This must be for at
least 2 to 4 seconds, so the fax machines can understand how each is
sending and receiving the fax. The handshake cannot begin until the call
is answered, and the CNG tones only last for about 40 seconds after the
number is dialled. Therefore, it's important for the receiving machine to
answer the call in as few rings as possible.

1 Press Menu, 1, 1. The screen prompts you to select TONE or PULSE.

2 Use Z or X to select the dialling mode.

3 Press Set when the screen displays the dialling mode you want.

4 Press Stop to exit.

Although this equipment can use either Pulse or Tone signalling, only the

performance of the Tone signalling is subject to regulatory requirements

for correct operation. It is therefore strongly recommended that the

equipment is set to use the Tone signalling for access to public or private
emergency services. The Tone signalling also provides faster call set up.
