My Bernina B535 won't turn on. Help?
A 535 should be under warranty still. Do you have sewing lights? If not, then it is the power supply PCB. See your authorized Bernina Dealer. Electronic issues can only be repaired at a dealer because of Bernina’s stringent parts and technician training requirements. That’s why Bernina’s cost the big bucks. ??
My Bernina 930 is having trouble with the uptake lever unhooking the thread and causing me to stop and rethread to continue.
Implies low or no top thread tension.
Thread machine with foot UP. Test thread tension by lowering foot and make a long slow pull of thread. Then raise foot and make another long slow pull. There should be marked difference between foot up(no tension) and foot down(set tension as selected).
If no difference, increase thread tension an retest. If still no tension tension discs have debris, thread not captured in discs, or broken tensioner.
Could be top thread not unspooling evenly. Also make sure there is no burr on the needle tip or needle is bent or test with a new needle.
Bernina 880 hand wheel stuck
I`ve had it when my needles jammed...hence locked up the machine...only thing to do is a pair of wire cutters break the needle and re assemble
Bernina 780 sews great, but thread in bobbin keeps messing up while doing embroidery,
Usually, if the thread is messing up under the fabric, it is a top thread issue. This is sometimes referred to as thread nesting or bird nesting. Make sure you are using a brand new needle of the type specifically for embroidery. The eye needs to be large enough to easily accommodate the thread size and it needs to be a sharp needle. It may help to use a needle with a larger scarf that will protect the upper thread when piercing the fabric. If the thread is not protected sometimes it will hang up on the underside of the fabric when the needle withdraws from the fabric, causing thread loops, etc. Remove the thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. (This releases the tension disk so the thread seats completely.) Verify the thread path is correct. Use a bobbin thread that is compatible with the embroidery thread. Check that the bobbin thread is smoothly wound on the bobbin, that the bobbin is turning the correct direction in the bobbin case, and the bobbin case tension is threaded properly. Retest your embroidery on a small project. If you are still seeing thread bunching up under the fabric, you need to tighten the upper tension.
