You will need to disassemble youre laptop and get to the cmos battery. This is located in the bottom right hand corner of the inside of the laptop and looks similar to a watch battery. are you getting any lights on?saying its on. sounds like it over heated,can you hear if the fan is trying to run? if so try cleaning it all out.

try asking windows to look for the driver,or roll the windows back to when it last worked.

uninstall and re install

BIOS settings usually don't change unless something happened to the battery. The hard drive has most likely failed.
