When you get to the end cut the threads long enough to be able to tie.
From the wrong side of the fabric, if you pull the thread slightly you will see the a loop from the top thread, pull this, so now both threads are on the wrong side, tie a square knot and cut close to knot, you can also put a drop of fabric glue on the knot to help secure it.

john, I would try cleaning the mechanism with vinegar or CLR to dissolve any buildups you can't see. Rinse, fill up with fresh water and powerup. good luck

Can't you cut the hose so it is even across, and level? Reaffix the hose to the steamer portion. Just remove the old attached hose from the end of the handle, clean it and reaffix the freshly cut end into the handle once again.

Might be off timing, check that needle is right direction, timing sometimes on these units are thrown off easy

try going to their web site to see if they have a parts picture, if they do the diagram will probably resemble what the shaver looks like with the parts separated and numbered so you can buy just that part, it should give you an idea of what it looked like before.
