After power surges have had
I think the transformer for the dct6200 is in the cable box... thats why there is no "box" on the power cord...
sadley that means the damage may be in the cable box and much harder to replace than if the transformer had been on the cord.
can you call the cable company and have them replace them?
I just connected my dct700
its "cold", which means its still downloading. give it 1/2 hour at some point the box will reset and you will see a blue bar with 3 yellow dots. when that goes away toyr box will have a guide and channel bars but they will say no data or to be announced or something of the sort. 10 more min and you will be all set.
hope you didnt mess to much up fussing with it
good luck ;}~
DCT700/US - Unable to turn

God Bless Motorola For Giving Us Cable Boxes With No Buttons!
ok, does your remote have lights that flash when you hit buttons?
for example pushing volume lights up tv. if the cable light doesn't flash then it may need reprogrammed. if none of this applies to your remote... sorry
good luck
Motorola dct 6412 wont turn off
pull the power at the back of the box or the wall, which ever is more convient. then wait for all the power to bleed out of the capacitors takes a minute or two (we call this a power cycle) hopefully it comes back up. might be time to put it to pasture.
My comcast cable box is slow in responding
is it running through a reciever? sometimes the reciever makes it feel as if there is a delay.
if there is no cable signal when you tune to a channel the box will hang till it times out and says "temp off air" then you can change the channel.
hope something here was helpfull leave more details
good luck
Dct6200 can't find the serial number?
usually a sticker on the bottom of the box, sometimes on rear.
if it is to hard to get at or the sticker is missing try this:
1)turn everything all on as if your watching it
2)locate the d-pad, power button, and select button on the face of the box.
3)push power and right away start mashing select over and over
4)you should end up with a white screen and black text (a kinda debug screen)5)use the d-pad to select #5 unit address and security
6)little over halfway down "host serial #" is your boxes serial number.
fyi: you can use the cable remote instead of the buttons on the box.
DVR won't play
I hae a Motorola 6412 that had this problem. I turned it off, then unplugged it for 30 seconds. After turning it on I had to wait 1-2 minutes before I could acces the DVR, but it work now.
