Can't get this to connect. It doesn't have a standby mode.

Did you provide the MAC address of the modem to your cable/Internet provider (TWC) ? The MAC address is on the bottom of the modem and is labeled "HFC MAC ID" (w/o the quotes, of course) . Hope this helps.

Connect motorola modemsbSB6121 to Belink N600 wireless router with out losing internet signal

Step one turn on PC directly connected to ModemsbSB6121 without Wi FI router being involved. Step two go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter) Step three note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C. Step four type in default gateway address into browser and log into Modem. Step five look for DHCP Server and allocate IP addresses from at least 50 for example 192.168.0.50 starting ip lease ending ip lease 192.168.0.254 Step six connect Wi Router to P.C. via ethernet cable only - remove ModemSB6121 Step Seven shutdown and restart p.c Step Eight go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter) Step Nine note IP address of default gateway and ip address issued to P.C. Step Ten type in default gateway address into browser and log into Wi Fi Router Step Eleven Change IP address on Router to 2 as example 192.168.0.2. (it has to match in that modem device would have been 192,168.0.1) (if it was 10.0.0.1 make wi fi 10.0.0.2 make sure subnet mask is the same like 255.255.255.0) Step twelve Change DHCP Server to off Step Thirteen may need to set default gateway to MODEM IP address for example 192.168.0.1 Step Fourteen plug modem router into Wi Fi router may need to plug into WAN port on WI FI router . Step Fifteen shutdown and Restart Computer Step Sixteen go to Command prompt type in ipconfig (press enter) Step Seventeen type in PING 192.168.0.1 (if this is modem IP address and default gateway IP addess) All this above is to avoid IP address conflicts or mismatching Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 either it uses 192.168.0.1 or it uses 10.0.0.1 make sure Wi FI router is set to different address to Modem Router. I suspect either a clash occurs or your P.C gets a different IP range from ther WI FI DHCP server. Happy troubleshooting !

What is a bonded channel signal

A 'bonded channel' is where the modem combines two or more channels together, for increased bandwidth. The first light <Power> should be green, indicating power is on. The second <Receive> light can be green or blue. When it is steady green, no bonding is occurring, (less bandwidth). A steady blue light indicates that the modem is using more than one channel for downloading. That is too say, it is bonding(higher bandwidth). That is the preference.... (If green or blue, and flashing, modem is still setting up....). The third light <Send> can be green or blue. When it is steady green, no bonding is occurring, (less bandwidth). A steady blue light indicates that the modem is using more than one channel for uploading. That is too say, it is bonding, (higher bandwidth). That is the preference.... (If green or blue, and flashing, modem is still setting up....). The fourth light <Online> is green, only.... If green and flashing, it is scanning for a connection..... If green and not flashing, it is finished scanning.... The fifth light is the WiFI indicator of network traffic. (It also is used for WPS pairing, which I doubt you will use. Just stick with the WiFi indicator function...). It should be green, normally..., or non-WPS.... If #2 is blue, and 3# is green, normally...., I suspect that there is too much loss in your in-house system of wiring, and splitters. If that is the case, try putting a 8-12dB 'tap', in series with the whole house. That way, the loss is minimized for your modem to 'send' high bandwidth stuff upstream to the cable guys.... Be sure that the modem is connected to the 'tap' port, the house to the 'out' port, the cable company to the 'in' port of the tap block. I pasted a couple of examples of taps, at the bottom of this, to show the port labels. The tap loss to the rest of the house, is minimal to how well everything else works. I get a +15dB signal from the cable company. But, too many splits, left my modem in low speed upload mode. By-passing the splitters of the house, by adding the tap as only loss to modem uploading, my blue light always stays on. I also added an UPS, to cover power failures, and glitches. That was a well spent $50 special! a3e73f03-c380-49da-8c63-30f45940ca66.jpg ef068fc8-f053-49ce-a577-d352db809e0b.jpg
