You need a copy of Apple iTunes which is a free download available for Mac's and PC's. Download and install iTunes, add your MP3's to the music library then connect your USB cable from the Nano to the computer. Fire up iTunes and do a "sync."

1. Double-click on the "iTunes" icon to open the program and then transfer all of your music filesinto iTunes. To add music from CDs, simply load a CD into yourcomputer's drive, wait for iTunes to see the playlist and then click"Import." You just need to import your song into iTunes library, then make a playlist with the songs, plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", the songs will be transferred from iTunes to iPod.

open up itunes and the music library tab then drag and drop your saved music into itunes the music will take a little while to load but after it does you will be able to sync it to the ipod
