I would say if you use heat use a heat gun. Better heat but be careful, they are much hotter than you think and you do not want to damage the finish.

Right now you are having to turn it on/off by using the circuit breaker or just unplugging the pump right? Is this a button you depress or an electric button like you would find on a microwave? If it is a button you depress to turn it on/off then the problem is most likely the air switch located in the motor under the skirt of the tub. You may have dirt getting into your water from the well and clogging the fill valves in your toilets. Valve assembly can be opened and cleaned out from the top. Instructions are available on AS website for your model. (Note) If you are picking up material from your well, a sediment filter should be added to your water line.

Usually seeping is from under the flapper. Replace flapper with one designed for that model. Avoid generic flappers.

Possible float adjustment is stripped. Replace float assembly. Or float is making contact with tank or flapper. Observe when flushing and turn assembly to operate freely position and tighten assembly nut under tank to secure.

Water is either running (1) into the overflow tube or (2) out to the toilet under the flapper at the bottom of the tank. If (1) lower the ball or float. Done differently depending on model. If (2) replace the flapper with new flapper designed for your model. (Note: Raise manually the float valve and if water still runs out the little tube that goes into the overflow tube then fill valve is defective. Replace it.)

Could be a chunk of scale in the valve. Need to turn off water supply and take valve apart. If nothing is found, turn water supply on to give line a 'quick' flush and turn back off. If this does not help, you probably have an obstruction somewhere in the hot supply line and a plumber may be needed unless you are handy. Good luck.

I live in a mobile home park and that is what i do as the park handyman. The fastest way... cut the pipe with a recipricating saw and remove a long section. Knock it to let all the ice slide out. bring it into a warm shop for a while if you have to or run warm water through it. place a micro furnace near the sewer and use a heatgun if more ice is at the other end. Once things are clear, use two 3 inch fernco adapters and clamp everything back together. (i always keep a couple on hand just in case this happens) Make sure the lean is perfectly angled with no place for water to sit or this is what happens.

1. Twist-off or unscrew the intake cover.
2. Clean the intake cover with an old toothbrush and powdered laundry detergent. Rinse any soap residue from the cover before reinstalling.
3. Replace the cover.

Replace a jet:

t sounds like you have a bad air switch located in your motor. The air switch is what the air hose connects to on the back of the motor or on the box on top of the motor. The other end of the air hose is connected to the air button on the lip of the tub. This is a latching air switch and when you push the air button it latches to send power to the motor. When the air button is pushed again it opens the latch in the air switch and stops power going to the motor shutting it off. US Parts Center

replace flapper with American Standard flapper.

It could be a bad seat around the flapper or the flapper itself. Replace flapper with one designed for the Cadet. Check water level and see it doesn't flow above the overflow tube. if it is above the tube lower the float ball by turning the screw at top of ball.

Are you on a well or city water? Septic tank shouldn't matter as it is below the level of the water in the toilet. It is coming from the fill water.

Bad flapper valve or water level is above overflow tube. Replace flapper or lower float.

O ring on fill tube? or on tank?

Perhaps the shut off valve is not fully open, or constricted. Try opening and closing the shut off valve to loosen any sediment. Otherwise, replace shut off valve.
