i fixed my Z3771 by shorting the CMOS/BIOS jumper/s. and it worked. Original Problem: Power supply was ok. But the screen was blank, it wont switch on as well. When a lan cable is inserted into the lan port, the lan port would light and flicker. So the motherboard was getting the power supply. but it wouldnt switch on. So opened the back covers, then the metal plate on the right that covers the RAM, etc. And on the motherboard was the two CMOS/BIOS jumpers. its located on the upper right of the CMOS battery in the image. The power supply was supplying the power to motherboard. i only shorted the one marked with red arrow and the pc beeped. So you just take the jumper out and move it back and place it. then take it out and put it back in the original position, U can leave it for a few seconds before returning to original position. then i pressed the power switch and it beeped and turned on, BIOS was reset. I loaded default BIOS to start the PC. Played up twice during OS loading, but eventually windows came up.

OucH no acer real model PC told at all wow hard nut to crack that, I sure can not guess that ...The case told only helps if power on button is wrongor the PSU is wrong. I moved this to acer forum. as the mobo matters.Q1;never worked before by you,? this acer mobo by you?or found it used and dead.? used mobo come good bad or a wreck. (history not told , as in when did fail)the acer.com is the place to look first. for manuals. not told what GPU are you using onboard vga or GPU card or what?All fans spin ? (they have no service manuals)put an Asus or Gigabyte mobo there and end this ACER pain,post a photo of the mobo and we can guess what PC it came out of, .......

acer has no service manuals so all you can do is get the PC fixed in a shop or google dismantle or youtube dismantle. ACER Aspire 1640 there is no other ways, and acer does stink on docs and then in 10years deletes what is there. not too laptops are the same of 100,000 models unless are. rare that.. that is why I buy dell, heck they have full service manual and even a video web page that shows all dismantle steps. you do get what you pay for and support tops my list. Dell wins acer fails hard. ah but was dirt cheap. sure.

mute the speakers if still sounds noisy the fan inside is packed in lint and needs to be cleaned out or overeheating is bad news. why not ask a shop to look into this. we can take it apart (covers ) and user or stethoscope to hear noise. a $5 tool that is. and all shops have one or DIY one. I put my hear to hDD casings me, i use tube and put it near the fan vent to hear it scream. there is no other way besides unplugging all that 1 by one to hear it go silent. this is SOP, vast PC's pack up in lint and fail.

2005 PC last one on earth that runs virus magnet XP, wow. RTM all laptops on earth have manual and in said manual is the hot key pair told for external vga port to work (or what is there) FN +Fx (x varies by maker) and see menu, auto, external ,internal, both pick one. acer.com, some are now deleted at 15+ years old. there so only google finds old manuals now. even free. no no and no. the port vga (not told yours or how you get to hmdi on TV ) not told but laptops default to disabled, it is NOT a PnP port like a TV has. no it is not, this is to extend battery life lots. by DESIGN> Fn+F5, did work folks say. googled acer.com ended all support this hot key works even in bios, no OS needed, Hint hint hint. why say netbook this is no net book. NO TV told no cables told how VGA fits to any HDMI TV. and matters huge adapted how./ not told yes I do see lots of reviews griping above 160 Fn+F5 failing but ive not a clue at all what TV this is , now connected nor why XP is run ever, and there is no support for this relic.

last man on VISTA. wow. NFORCE is a EOL dead chip product line now, zero support yes top cause of BSOD are GPU driver bad. the batteries are all bad. this old all. the HDD is bad

there is no support for any of that. they told your right , get ubuntu on there. now. v18 up. zero support means zero get the new Unbuntu and load it. but that old HDD is no good, now, it will fail all tests to the HDD using any smart test app.

all batteries that old are bad, replace them for sure coin cell and just take out big battery now shorted and now the correct AC power pack runs the PC. do that first. the charge lamps lie to all owners if the battery shorts, learn to just remove the big battery some do even forEVER> if not needing true mobile the battery is just not needed and for sure act 1 ,test #1 the RTC coin is dead too. that is true those SMD DC jacks are pure trash, and fail easy buy a PC lacking that jack, good PCs have jack pigtails that do not fail ever, unless the trunk monkey played here.

NO OS told , but is 2008 relic AMD chips ATI SB600 has zero support now for the OS or the maker,Acer. just happen out of the blue? or bought a relic failing PC, no history told blue? when did login';s last work great. was good but not now, the OS is corrupted or the HDD is bad. this is a 2007 vISTA PC, oct 2009 is w7 and your PC is older The OS can be hacked easy VISTAS login hacks. but.. but if still fails the HDD is bad as most are 9 years old even 5yo. we run full smart tests in a shop on any old PC we run that on the HDD if fails it is a no good drive. buy a new boot drive and load VISTA 32 or 64bit only there is no w7 hear. seen here and proof. and AMD also ended all nforce chip support / https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/338?b=1 but you have no Vista install disks./

the battery is no good all batteries there are no good and wishing to be good is gross waste of time..17=9 is 8 years gee my 10 year old dell is on 3rd battery set and I have spares for trips off the grid !@!! learn to keep spares. learn that any battery abused can fail in 1 short year. this is a fact. for sure over-discharging it endless. and deep and often./

(it) best not to hot swap parts inside any PC, that means PC has power cord AC to the wall. do not do that, if did that, remove AC cord for 1 hours and hit power button 3 to 5 times or more to discharge all CAPS then put back PC to a stripped down state and test the PC get bios working first. using the BIOS hot key

notebook acer Aspire 6920G <<< real name.! 2009 made, long in tooth that NO OS told at all, it is a windows 7 only PC, so is it still w7 or did others stuff w10 on it and now fails SURE IT WILL. and the OS and the driver and PC must match a 3 way match or it will fail. 6902g + w7 match. and only from ACer.com, no place else.. ok? w7 only ok? and only for this PC ! the cam must show up in device manager ! no errors. or it will be dead and guess what 1 more hint, the cam runs off usb (inside) so if the USB ports are dead so be the cam for the same reason wrong drivers. and again only w7 acer driver work from acer.com not told at al what OS came with PC new (it was w7) but ive no idea at all history of any PC, and changes to the OS acer.com shows weak support on 2009 PC, sorry that is what i see there, or try this. internet connected, w7 running click on device manager and look for errors and update all Usb and CAM seen there. this is the w7 microsoft PnP way, that can work. and is safe no other ways are safe, ever. the endless www HP , errors asked. PXE (common as nails) try to be more clear, the PC is Acer Aspire 5732Z-4855 ( build date 2009) and all batteries in to are bad and worse shorted. The RTC COIN cell is dead and when that dies BIOS and HP loves to boot wrong, to PXE remote servers you never had nor want.. this is HP business grade tricks. (defaults to wrong) the error 100x better from HP would be remote boot server dead. (and you have no such thing) is this just 1 PC laptop problem and only ONE connection to AC power park only and NOTHING else connected, we cant' see it so must beg for facts. 1. a new coin cell battery is first, replaced,
2. then reset bios
3. set time and date in bios
4. set all instances of PXE to off bios
5. set bios boot order to HDD0 first.
6. save
7. exit bios
8. cold boot and bingo HDD0 boots and windoz runs. w7?

a done deal.

USB keyboard, none told so really hard to guess what have maker and model kbd. i think kbd is bad, test it on 2 PCs if both fail keyboard is bad.

1. the monitor 2005 is dead as all are. now, CCFL dead LAMPS and fails on a 2nd GOOD PC, proves MON IS DEAD.
2. PLUGGED IN WRONG, USE THE VGA PORT ON MOBO WITH NO GPU CARDS INSTALLED.
3. Hold power button on PC in for 10seconds and release/?
4. The PC has 12 years of lint , never serviced and sure fan runs fast for that, lint, it's only trying to save its bacon from the #1 killerrrr of electronics = heat.
5. the RTC coin cell battery is dead, spec is 7y max not 12. so is dead and now BIOS is 100% confused and in CHAOS mode.
6. put in a new $1 coin now.
7. reset bios screens. next. if screen works
8. then remove all power to PC AC cord, even overnight like that. then put back a Ac AND DO THE 10 POWER ON TEST. EVEN LEARN TO TURN ON PC FIRST, SEE POWER LED ON PC NOT BLINK AND THEN TURN ON MONITOR LAST 15SECONDS LATE OR MORE AND THEN SEE MONITOR TALK TO YOU, LIKE THIS , no signal, no sync,. no connection or out of range errors. the first 3 are dead PC VGA port the latter is PC set to ******* resolution of unstated monitor.
9. and 20 more cause and test. reduce the PC top min, system , all ALL usb things unplugged, all sata, all IDE drivers, ALL cables to all drives pulled, all PCI cards pulled, all ram by 1 stick of ram in back0 channel "A" , (ELAB: test each stick of ram in that slot 1 by 1, blow out the slot first. with can-o-air sold at walmart or use 30psi shop air as shops do.
10. we do this because anything that shorts makes PC fail hard.

this mobo is AMD Nforce junk , zero support now and for sure zero future at all , no hope of newer OS>? GF 6100 onboard. Nforce Crush 51 runs the VGA port .
