Rear defrost partially working I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and only the two middle strips on the back glass are defrosting, the other strips on the top & on the bottom are not heating up.
tell me why it might not be getting a spark to the coil? No power to the coil? It could be a PCM, wiring, crank sensor....no fire out of the coil, most likely a bad coil, bad pickup in the distributor
...bad ignition coil use only a name brand coil ,but it could be a bad computer but not very common check wiring to ignition coil A if it was good, substitute coil A and B then look to the recorded DTC ...
coil would glow just as a dryer heating element. But no heat and no glow. you need to ohm out the heater elements. Its the ohm reading that will give you insight as to whether or not the coils are bad
bad coil. If coil is to be replaced make sure to gap the coil away from flywheel by placing a peice of paper folded over between coil & metal strip-(magnet) coil will pull itself to strip, tighten

PLEASE HELP if you have power to the coil then the coil is bad Between the coil and the plugs is the distributor, is there a spark from the coil to the distributor?, does the coil produce spark at all
