If your computer has no wireless that intall you can add a wireless device such as a usb wireless dongle, or you can have the internal pci wireless card just plug it in the computer install the driver

Most desktop computers do not have a wireless card installed. You need to install a wireless card in the expansion slot and install the wireless driver, then configure this wireless card with your router's wireless settings so it can connect to the wireless router.
If your connected to the internet there is only 1 logical solotion why your network cable is unpluged. You have a PCi wireless card installed. It will even function without an antena. Check the pack of your pc.
Dell GX270 Drivers Please visit the above link from Dell Official Support. Go to the Network Section and Download the recommended drivers (Gigabit LOM)
it will work fine.just install the drivers and it will pick up the signals from wireless router or modem..dial up and dsl are two different connections.
This is the driver page for the GX270 over at Dell, go to the Network tab (after selecting your OS) and should need the Intel Network Driver listed there.
