To review the picture just taken - seconds; to retrieve from the disk you have to finalize the disk which takes about a minute for a full disk, seconds for a partially filled disk. Then you just put it in your CD-drive and you can view them immediately. If you have Roxio with a CD-RW you may not have to finalize the disk first, and you always have the option to transfer pictures via the USB cable (same as with other digicams).

Sony Mavica CD400 orange vertical line appears.

In lesser digital camera chips, this is typically "vertical smear". It is especially apparent if there is a much brighter light source in the image. I.E., a street lamp on a dark street. I have used an early version of the Mavica and experienced this type of situation with that camera, so am assuming that this is typical throughout the Mavica model line. The work-sround is be particular about the lighting situations you shoot with the camera.

Not good, you will need a replacement floppy drive for the camera. It is a common failure point on the Mavica series. Sorry, no easy fix

A substantial percentage of my Memorex 3.5" CDs won't finalize, and when I susbsequently try to review the photos on the camera, it tells me there are no files on it. Nothing will download to the computer via the USB either. There is a software program that always saves me when I get careless and fill the disk to full. It''s called CD Roller. It''s called CD Roller.

Try import instead of open, then click print image matching. This is how it works in PS7.

Sony Mavica CD400 -- can't get iMac to see mini disks

Bob: the Mac will never show what is on the disk.....and you don't hgave to finalize either. Do you have Image Capture on your units? If so, all you need to do is connect the camera via USB cable to the computer. The program will come on automatically (the camera has to be on), you can choose to download some or all of the pictures to a folder of your choice. HTH
