I have a GE spacemaker microwave oven model JVM 1440. A bulb blew and when I went to change both over the stove bulbs stay on all the time. What is the problem and what should I do.

The bulb changing instructions are on page 35.
It basically says pull the bulbs straight out and replace with WB36x10213 halogen bulbs.

Either the wrong bulbs or just bad ones. The oven only gives it the 120 volts. It won't be the microwave oven. Just bad bulbs

That model would be JVM1640CJ02.

There should be a panel covering the bulb iside the cookspace with a screw holding it on. Remove screw, cover then bulb.

Have GE JVM1440BH light and fan that are operated by the touch pad do not work. Both stop working at the same time. Ideas????

The bulbs are glued in at the factory. Unplug the microwave and see if you can remove the base of the bulb from the socket with needle nose pliers. You may have to twist the heck out of the bulb base but it should come out. If you do need a new socket it is available at www.geappliances.com under parts and accessories. Or call 1-800-626-2002 for GE factory parts

Allways unplug when your working inside a microwave, you will most likely have to replace the bulb again and also the fan, or anything else that is damaged, you will need to inspect the microwave for broken parts.
