Sony CRX320EE combo drive not reading data disks

It won't be a driver problem, DVD drives are generic, it will be either the drive has a problem, the dvd has a problem or your media player has a problem

1) Drive issue - does it player other dvd's - if yes, your drive is ok, if now you have a drive problem, try using a CD lens cleaner or a blast of canned air to clean the lens.

2) Disk issue, if just one disk doesn't play, then its a disk issue or data issue. Assuming the disk is clean and not scratched. Does the Disk have the correct country coding for your region. If not then you have to change the region setting on your DVD player

RMB My computer - Manage - Device manager - Optical drive - Properties - Regional settings.
Bear in mind most DVD player will only allow about 5 changes.

3) Media player, your current media player may not have the correct codecs to decodes the video files on this disk. Go to filehippo.com download and install VLC media player. This will play about anything and its free.

Try the CD disk in a different computer.
If it does not read, the CD disk is the problem.

Try a different CD in your computer.
If it does not read, the CD-drive is the problem.

Spend $40 to buy a new CD/DVD-writer, to replace the "dead" CD-drive.

go to hardware manager and uninstall it. then let it find it again, should fix it.

im having sony CRX320EE combo drive. it can read cd but cant read dvd. plz help

If you have the sony CD RW DVD ROM then you can't burn the data in a blank DVD.

Because your Configuration is :
Read : CD / DVD
Write : CD

This means you have a combo drive. But to burn a DVD you should have DVD RW.

the best.. and fastest way to do this is to .. unplug the drives power and data cable.. then reconnect it while the pc is turned off then power the pc back on and you should have the drive become recognized again thus bringing it back to use.

I can't Open/play any DVD from Combo drive & i can't write any cd from this. I have not any burning softwear.
