Hello & Welcome to FixYa
If you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

The washing machine problem and the dryer problem are not related though both happened at the same time coincidentally. Please be noted that though both machines connected to the power source by a single cord, the internal circuits are separate and work independently with each other. Both machine problem should be troubleshooted separately.
The problem with the washing machine is likely with the drain system. The machine will not advance to the spin cycle unless the water has been drained. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged/kinked and the pump is clear and working. The drain pump filter, if present, may just need a cleaning.
The problem with the dryer is definitely the heating circuit which includes the timer/control, heating element, thermostats, and the motor centrifugal switch. Continuity tests are necessary to determine the conditions of these components located on the blower housing and the heating element housing with the exception of the motor centrifugal switch which is located on the motor.

It sounds like you have two different problems. First, we will look at the washer. The lid switch that is in your washer is famous for coming apart. Take a small flat head screwdriver and press on the switch. You should hear, and even feel the switch engage and disengage.
Let me know what you find.

The online machine manual indicates this could be one problem and says to check circuit breakers. We did that. The dryer problem and washer problem happened at the same time.
still looking for more ideas
what does that have to do with the washer not working
