Hi gene my fridge has done the same thing. I do have ice build up at the back of the freezer and there is not air coming down into the fridge section. so do you think it is the fan?????
Hi Linda,
The fan could be the problem..do ya hear it (the fan) runnibg inside of the freezer or does it seem to be not running. The ice build up would very likely be only around the area of where the fan is in the freezer if it were not running and if the frost (ice) build up was covering the entire back wall that will be a defrost problem and not a fan problem most probably. I have included this tip i wrote about what to check in the defrost systtemhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r10097882-w... Good luck

Hello,
The most common cause of that is a malfunction of the automatic defrost system. Do you see a bunch of frost on back wall of freezer? if yes it's not defrosting or perhaps the fan in the freezer that circulates air into fresh food compartment has failed,no frost build up if it's the fan, do you hear the fan?
Gene
No I can't hear the fan and there is no sign of ice on the back of fridge
Sorry on the back of freezer I mean
Ok if you do not hear the fan thats the possible trouble it runs and circulates air into the fresh food section
