Replace the ink-cartridges, because they are just about empty.
When ink is pulled from the cartridge, there is just enough ink to print a "low-density" page,
or a few lines of text, but there's not enough ink to "freely" flow, on demand, to ink a full page.

Unable to print or delete a document

  • 1

Remove the cartridges from the F380 printer.

  • 2

Position the cartridges so they are right side up and the gold leads are facing you.

  • 3

Place a small piece of tape over the gold contact in the top left corner of each cartridge.

  • 4

Place the cartridge back in the F380 printer. The printer automatically prints an alignment page.

  • 5

Remove the cartridges. Place a piece of tape over the gold contact in the top right corner of each cartridge.

  • 6

Place the cartridges back into the F380 printer. The F380 prints another alignment page.

  • 7

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove both pieces of tape from each cartridge.

  • 8

Insert the cartridges into the F380 printer. The printer prints a cartridge alignment page. Each cartridge is now recognized as a full ink cartridge.

HP Deskjet printer 6940 clearly prints only top half of a page. The lower half fades and some lines fade completely. Many thanks for your help!

This problem is mainly due to driver corruption
    1. Reinstall the driver or scan for viruses and remove it.
    2. Remove all temp files from the drive.
    3. Try removing corruption in OS or reload OS.
    4. Try connecting to another system and take print out.
    5. Chipset on the printer may be having problem, get it serviced.

    Bottom of line missing

First try and go to page setup under file and set your bottom and top margins to .25. is every bottom half line faded? If so then yes you might need a new ink cartridge.

When printing some lines don't print properly-appears to be just the top half or less of the line will print. It seems it happens every 3rd or 4th line, but has done it on the second line also, so is not...

Try printing out the test page from the printer, this will show you if any of the inkjet holes are getting plugged. If you can't print a test page without the skipping try changing the ink cartridge(s), the test page will show you which one is clogging.
