Where in the Manual for a Pentax E40 Digital Camera can I find how to download to my computer.

You can do that by two methods.

1. Memory Media
The E40 accepts SD and SDHC memory cards and has approximately 10MB of internal storage.

Insert the memory into your laptop SD card slot.
You may not need a SD Card carrier as the SD type for both Camera and laptop is same.

2. Connectivity
There is a USB/AV connector on the side of the camera as well as a dock connector on the bottom of the camera.

You can easily download pics using a separate card reader. You don't need the camera or the missing cd.

There are no firmware updates for your camera.

You can download a copy to your computer at the support section of the Pentax website.

this is not malfunction.
According to its manual, just turn it off ,wait for one minute and
turn it on again. It'll reset th camera. You need to reset the date/time.

Use a card reader.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
