Operator's Manual. CRAFTSMAN. 2-Cycle. WEEDWACKER GAS TRIMMER. Model No. 316.711471. INCREDI-PULLMW/TH. UNBELIEVABLE STARTING EASEâ„¢. CAUTION: Before using this ...
Remove string cap and tighten nut or you will have to hold shaft just above string head with pliers and turn head by hand till tight.
press the helpful button and check link below Craftsman 17 25cc Weedwacker
If it is like other trimmers there is a hole on the top side of the head put a small screwdriver in that hole it will stop the head from turning unscrew the head counterclock wise.
I installed the Pivo trim head yesterday. The info that came with the unit will show you how to install it on ANY Weed Eater Unit. Also they have videos on their web site at: https://pivotrim.com/
Look on the end of the shaft of your weed eater at the head. Mine was a 25cc Poulan/weed eater SST45 and it has a hole that you need to stick a HEX KEY in so the shaft does not move when you try to remove it. ALSO it has a BACKWARDS THREAD!!! So "Right is NOT Tight." Left is to tighten and turn towards the right to get the head to unscrew so you can put on the Pivotrim Head. Also you can use ANY Weed Eater line on the unit. As I tried several different lines and found different uses for different lines. Such as edging and trimming against fences. Best after Market Weed Eater head I have EVER used. :-)
Have you checked the condition of the air filter? If ok, have you cleaned and re-oiled it?
My 31cc 18" Craftsman weedwacker came with the house I bought 5 years ago. Just getting around to getting it going. Checked air filter and found it had disintegrated. The air filter is foam and you put oil on it so over time the foam will break down. My manual states that if you don't clean and re-oil your air filter every 10 hours of operation, you void your warranty so sound fairly important. Just picked up new air filter yesterday. Will let you know how mine starts up (or doesn't) later today or tomorrow.
If you have mixed your gas and oil to a 4 to one mix you have way too much oil in your gasoline.
Drain out your fuel tank and carburetor. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Remove the spark plug and clean if necessary.Mix your fuel in a fuel container at 40 to one. Some sites even recommend a 50 to one mixture. (50 to one mixture is one pint of oil to 6 gallons of gasoline)Refill your fuel tank on the trimmer and try to crank, if it does not want to crank within 4-5 pulls then you may want to give it a very small shot of starting ether in the carburetor intake and try to crank again.Good Luck, I hope this helped,Please rate me, Thanks
