I have a vintage Technics SUG9 Amp. I need to know how to hook up the Technics SH80-17 Graphic Equalizer. I Need a find a free manuel. Have any ideas where I can find one on the web? Thanks for your time!

It should be easy enough to diagnose with a digital multimeter. Look for a bulb with no continuity or a bad capacitor close by.

Failed components inside is the only answer without testing. Open it up and look for circuit board damage or blown capacitors. In reality, you need to take it to a service centre where they have the test equipment and knowledge.

These have been around at least since 2011. I can't even find Technics support page. I gather one might dig out the address for support from one of the manuals. But I can't find its manual, either, just one for the SH-8058. You might get some 3rd party support from a n appropriate forum in Tom's Hardware website. I've seen pages advertising this model used for shockingly low price or about $200. And a YouTube that may be in Spanish. You'll need 4 connections total. On my integrated amp, I connected the four connections to all Line In and Line Out ports. And the other ends into the tape 2/EXTRA ports respectively.

Very easy.

SOURCE > PRE-AMP > EQUALIZER > POWER AMP.

Not sure why you want to do it, though. Your pre-amp already has an abundance of sophisticated tone controls and filters.

If I might venture a guess, you are trying to correct some serious deficit in your speakers or in your source. If you need sophisticated tone controls, filters, AND an equalizer, you need to ask yourself why ... and fix that problem.

Look for a pre-main coupler on the back of the amp. Remove the coupler and hook the eq in. Output to Input.
