I have a DSC-F707. I use a 256 MB memory stick from Lexar with no problems. I just bought a new Sony Memory Stick Pro, 256 MB and the camera states it has a "Memory Stick Error - C:13:01.
Is there any way to format this stick to work with my camera?
Thanks!!
Tim

IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR PICTURES, DOWNLOAD "PhotoRescue"
INSERT YOUR MEMORY STICK CARD IN YOUR CAMERA, RUN THE SETUP1 AND FORMAT IT.
Good luck

In DSCT1 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Memory Stick being used in the Camera.
The Symptoms are:
Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB is not compatible with the DSCF707 Camera. Maximum capacity supported by the Camera is up to 128MB. Please try using a MS with 128 MB and check if it works. A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.
this camera doesnt take mem stick pro. has to be the original lavender sticks.msh-ms128 is the model # only goes up to 128 mb. only stick that will work with that cam.
what do you mean nothing happens???
the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!
I had the same problem. I bought a 2 gig memory pro-duo with the adapter and it gave me that error even though it fit just fine. I then tried a 512 memory stick and a 1 gig memory stick and neither one worked it gave me the C:13:01 error code. So I found out the hard way that the camera will not read it. The Sony DSC-S85 will not take memory above a 128. Try the Lexar 64MB memory stick. I just bought 4 and they work perfectly fine.
You will need to reformat the card:
1. Place the card in the reader
2. Right click on the drive letter for the reader
3. Choose format
4. Choose full format with no label
5. Finish the format
6. Test card. It should now be working correctly.
Note: Certain cameras may require that you also format the card in the camera.
I bought a Lexar 256MB, since the F707 can't use PRO or anything about 128mb, it has two 128mb on one stick. There's a switch on the stick to change it when the first 128mb is full.
