I have no sound, the unit will power up. ( yes the speakers are on) When I turn the unit on I hear the relay click. The mute indicator will flash a couple of times, then I hear the relay click again. ( display is on through both clicks) My theory is the power relay has gone bad. ( electrical strike bad storm ) 8amp fuse was changed - never blown from storm. Dont remember the relay ever clicking twice before. Relay marking on board is K101. Relay part number is OEG SDT-S-106LMR. Please help I really like this unit and I have a whole stack of Kenwood stuff that I would like to have powered up again.

Try it without the speakers connected before doing all that surgery.

Did the speaker relays light up ? and did you hear the third speaker relays ON clicking sound? If both no, DSP problem. If both yes, DIR problem. If the speaker relays lit up but NO speaker relay clicking sound, check relay driver +24V power supply.

Unit powers up, cd and radio seem to be operating properly, but no sound is heard, unit worked fine a few days before, all wires are conected, everything seems unchanged

Well...as you said...the unit powers up...so you don't have a "dead set".I don't know if the speaker can be disconnected from the unit.As a rule of thumb...it is very rare that both channels (left and right )fail at the same time...it is usually one channel while the other speaker still operates. This is what I want you to do...In a quiet room..get really close to the unit...Switch it on and listen for any sound from the speakers...get really close...you should hear a slight hum from the woofers and a high frequency "hiss" from the tweeters....If no sound is heard..switch the unit off..You should hear a "plip" sound...If not...switch it on again...you should hear a slight "bump" sound from the woofers...If you hear no sound from the speakers at all..there is a problem with the output stages of the amplifier section. If you do hear sounds fron the speakers,,Turn up the volume and watch for an increase visually on the display (such as ascending numbers). If there is no indication of a volume increase...The "mute" may be stuck on..Try switching it off and on...please let me know what happens after you do all the tests....Looking to hear from you......PEACE!!!

I cant hear sound for my computer

Assuming you used to hear sounds, you could have one of several problems.
1) Your speakers are turned off (is the little light on the speakers green?)
2) The volume is turned down or muted. Check to be sure you haven't accidentally muted them. You can find this out by clicking the little speaker icon in the system tray and seeing if the mute box is checked or check the sounds icon in the control panel.
3) Something happened to the sound driver. If you are in the Control Panel and click on sounds, you should see the various sound assigned to computer events. If you click the arrow to test play the sound and the little arrow is grayed out, then the sound drivers are missing or corrupt and must be reloaded.
4) Your speakers could be bad.

Just picked up a Marantz SR-19, Everything looks like it works but I get No sound out of it. Unfortunately, there is NO remote and was wondering if there is a setting like Mute or a speaker select on the...

A Mute indicator would tell you if it was muted. Make sure no Tape or Multichannel Input are selected by mistake.

There are supposed to be jumpers across the Pre_Outs to Main In's in the back when you're NOT using external amps. You could substitute short RCA cables.

Hi there, our amp is giving us very low sound output even when volume is turned up to maximum volume. We have been unable to find the remote and are wondering if the remote was turned right down would that...

I'd look at the front panel for the Mute Button and the Mute Indicator, but turn the volume down for any further investigations. If you can't hera the sound at 1/2 volume, it ain't there. No sense risking a sudden volume surge that will kill your speakers when you finally find the problem.

Also check the T-Mon Indicator. If it;s on you have the Tape selcted for listening instead of a source.

Volume/Mute Indicator: This

indicator will glow green when the

HK3270 is turned on. Its position

will enable you to judge the relative

volume of the unit even when the

speakers are muted or turned off.

When the indicator is pointing

towards the left, at an "8 o'clock"

position, the volume is low; when

it is pointing to the right, as in a

"3 o'clock" position, the volume is

loud. When the unit has been muted,

pressing the Mute button ïâthe
indicator will flash

No sound listening to music and audio stopped

Tape monitor is it on? Muting? How old is this unit? Does speaker relay click on secoinds after unit powers on? If relay does not click probably output problem. Try disconnecting speaker wires to see if relay will click. If it does click the suspect bad wire or speaker if not bad amp. The first step to diag is to diconnect everything and simplify the citems needed to get sound. 1 Known good signal source and cable, Minimum affects, check speaker switch, Known good wire and 1 speaker to front l or r terminal. iIf still know sound seek serv.

No sound from htr-5840 when switched on. I hear

These units have protection circuits that will prevent the speaker relay from engaging if there is a problem detected. There is also a circuit that causes a delay in the engaging of the relay to allow the amp to "settle in". This prevents the old "thump" that was common in older models when the set was first turned on. In your case, either the RC circuit is faulty causing excessive time to pass before turning on the relay, or there is excessive voltage floating around that the protection circuits are detecting and thus preventing the relay from turning on.

In any case, this will require additional diagnosis using some test equipment. This is not a problem that will be easily resolved remotely. Please bring this unit to a repair shop for an estimate. Once you have that info, we can assist with the actual repair.

Speakers are not making any sounds

ok let's try a simple test.unplug the the usb.i hope that your speaker has its own power supply.turn it on.try to touch the inputs of the speaker, you should hear humming sounds.if yes, then your speaker is ok.if the speaker is getting its power from the USB port, i suggest you should use its independent power.the USB does not have enough to supply your speakers. try also the output jacks for built-in audio of the pc, ok.

NO sound!

disconnect all 4 speakers, make sure the speaker wires dont touch each other...turn on th stereo and re-connect the speakers one by one.. if you connect one particular speaker and it makes the sound mute, then that is your bad speaker, and / or wiring.
