SOURCE: I have 2 dewalt 18 volt hammer drills. The first

Hi, Take the drill apart using a star driver. When taking the chuck assembly from the yellow section have the drill chuch down to stop bits falling out. Once handle is apart popout the triggger assembly. Remove the two power leads from the assembly. Try a direct connection to the battery (polarity doesn't matter. If the motor goes it means that the trigger is U/S. Put a tester across the terminals (either set). You may have a short (as I had). It appears to me that the trigger is not user servicable. I used one from a DeWalt recip saw with a mod on the reverse lever. Works well.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Dewalt cordless drill

You have burned out the drill motor, it is shorted, the battery smoked due to a direct short, one thing I don't understand why the thermal limiter didn't trip in battery pack, I would contact manufacturer and try to get hem to buy you a new drill.

SOURCE: Replacing a power cord for a Dewalt electric drill

some of the dewalt drill switches have a one way trap (like) for the wire. you push the wire in and the harder you pull it gets tight on its self. your wires go in the bottom of the trigger look right on top of each wire there is a small **** (no bigger then 3/16) for a flat head screw drive. In the **** you will see a small lever, it needs to be turned at the same time pull. It will help to have a friend.

SOURCE: Drill can no longer turn

On the chuck you will find some numbers. Those numbers means the revs and power that is aply for cetain jobs.If you want to drill use the max number by turn the dial on the chuck to the select number.

My Milwaukee m12 sawzall won't run. The fuel lights flash it runs for a second than stops. But once I get it running it runs till the battery runs out. I

New armature + carbon brushes are much cheaper then replace a battery , if the tool give a sharp sound it have a problem with the armature ( it is a frequent problem by Milwaukee but also Panasonic on the Johnson made armatures that have both brands because of the latest winding technique more power but a problem heat dissipation and thermal runaway in the long run.
The older Johnson armatures have no problems with the build up inside heat but have only some less and power worn collectors by many operating hours
The best option is the cheapest decision first replace the armature only if the tool sounds sharp and not smooth anymore thats the decision and its the best choice if you are thinking that the battery has no capacitance anymore it will have longer life armatures have a lifetime between 2 and 3 years if daily use but can be shorter but no longer for the battery that will stay much longer there is with Li Ion no memory effect to fear Many people are mistaken in the fact that the anchor can be the problem of a rapidly emptied battery.
If the armature has no problem the switch could be give the problem too but is relatively more expensive to replace.

remove the brushes and make a measuring on both brushholders for the dc voltage that its not faltering without the load of a bad armature

Bosch cordless drill not working.

First The model is pretty new. you need to register your tool on line. this takes you from a one year warranty to a three year warranty. They will give you a pro-vantage number. with that said it sounds like a trigger switch. Yhe trigger switch is the brain of your tool. not only does it do your variable speed but it also controlls the brake and your fuel gauge. Because of the cost I highly recomend taking it to your closes Bosch service center.

When I pull the trigger on my Dewalt dc925 xrp hammer drill it's working for a bit then stopping and starting

it sounds like you have a problem with the switch or battery. Try cleaning the battery contacts first and then remove the battery and look into the tool and see if the switch contacts are bent not allowing battery to seat firmly. If that is OK then I would think that you need a new switch. MAKE note of how you remove it because it is polarity sensitive. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Drill intermittantly responds when trigger is pulled. (mostly nothing happes or it sins for a second or two) Light does not light up. Batteries are fully charged.

Sounds like a bad switch. I have seen that happen when a switch fails. It may work at times but not all the time and often it no longer has any variable speed to it.

Just quit working one day, drill is just over a year old not used a whole lot, pull trigger and nothing happens

Are the batteries fresh? How about the switch? Is it in the right position? I can't believe the motor has died. Even a dead battery will spin it a little. Check that out and let me know what you find.

My Rigid 18v drill has lost power even after full charges. There also seems to be a dead spot when I pull the trigger. In other words, at a certain point when the trigger is pulled the drill shuts off so I...

the trigger mechanism is either worn or dirty, this wouldnt be a battery issue. the batteries in the pack depending on how old the drill is are probably nicad batteries. they will loose their pep after repeated cycleing over time. ive seen people replace the batteries in the packs if your handy with a soldering iron if not new packs are the answer, for the switch, if you dont want to dis assemble and clean, try blowing it out with air hose around the trigger area

Panasonic EY7540 impact driver. Does not go into reverse on 1st

The forward/ reverse switch is hanging up and the rotation of the drill is switching it, then it changes direction. The switch needs a little TLC and a good cleaning. Blow it out.

Re: Burned trigger switch: call the number on the drill (800.590.3723) and tell them what happened. They will offer to send you a new switch or have you send the drill in for replacement of the switch--although the person I talked with said they would probably just replace the whole drill.
