What you need to do now is call up your service provider and ask them to check the status of your GPRS service , if it's inactive then you need to activate it and then GPRS would work successfully.

i have a sciphone and dont no how to get the gprs on iv called orange but they can not help me cos the sciphone is not from the uk can you help me pls thanx john lewis

let me give u an example, if you have an nokia by sending a message to your service provider(vodafone..,.) you will get gprs setting and you can use internet from then but,
in case of china mobile it is not the case, you cant send any msg from ur mobile(as u do in case of branded mobiles) so, you have to got nearest centre of service provider(vodafone mobile store, if vodafone) and they will make some settings in your phone , immedately they will activate gprs on your phone(otherwise ask them to activate gprs then and there itself)

then you will be able to surf internet on your mobile .........

To connect to the net, you need to activate the GPRS settings for your phone first....so all you have to do is contact your sim card company provider and ask for the GPRS settings for your phone and follow the instructions on how to install the GPRS of your phone..some providers send GPRS settings to you through text, if that's what will happen, just follow the installation process.
