How many beeps and how long? Think Morose Code. Is it like long-short-short?

Hiya:) This is from dell directly: Your computer might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the monitor cannot display errors or problems. This series of beeps, called a beep code, identifies a problem. For example, beep code 1-3-1 consists of one beep, a burst of three beeps, and then one beep. This beep code tells you that the computer encountered a memory problem.
Reseating the memory modules (see Installing Memory) may fix the beep code errors in the following table. If the problem persists, see "Contacting Dell" in your Owner's Manual for instructions on obtaining technical assistance.

and here are the codes:

Code

Cause
1-3-1 through 2-4-4
Memory not being properly identified or used
4-3-1
Memory failure above address 0FFFFh
The following table lists beep codes for non memory related errors.

Code

Cause
1-1-2
Microprocessor register failure
1-1-3
NVRAM
1-1-4
ROM BIOS checksum failure
1-2-1

Dell xps demension. When I turn on the power botton fan comes on at a really fast speed but nothing else comes on. Doesn't load anything??

A cool heatsink points to a CPU failure, as the CPU is not processing data. Replacing the CPU at first would eliminate this, however, the CPU is unlikely to fail first unless it had been severely overheated, more likely that the board has developed a fault.

If you are however getting no beeps on start up, this does look like the CPU is the culprit

Loud beeping sound on start up , now will not start up , power ok

First remove the Ram and boot the system without it. If you hear continuous two beeps, then the problem is with the Ram, you need to replace it. If nothing happens, then your cpu or your motherboard is gone. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Dell Dimension 9200 beeps on startup, with nothing...

A beep code of 3-3-4= Video Memory(RAM) Test Failure that would explain why you get nothing on your screen the first thing you would need to do is disconnect your monitor and try it on another computer. if it works fine then the problem is your video card. If that the case and the video card is intergrated with the motherboard, you will need to repalce the motherboard --- Sorry-- Please vote me a 10 when this works
