Six (6) blinks on the Timer/Standby led

My Sony Projection TV KP-57WS500 does have no picture and sound. It just bliks when power on. It blinks 6 times and stop repeatedly. Any suggestion? Surge protection circuit problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sony rear projection screen is red then tv shuts off

Can be 1 of 2 things. 1st the red tube just needs the voltage to it turned down. In the front of TV (you have to remove the lower front half of TV to access it) is a plastic square with 6 knobs. The from left to right top knobs control focus for blue, green red. The bottom knobs control voltage to each tube in same order (so lower right knob for red) turn SLOWLY to left to reduce voltage until excessive red and lines go away. If you over turn left or right set will turn off. If that does not fix it or if lines reappear then option 2 is that red picture tube is failing outright and needs replacement.

Sony KP-57WS500 57 in. Rear Projection Television

THE LED ON THE FRONT OF THE SET SHOULD BE BLINKING IN A SERIES OF BLINKS THEN PAUSE AND REPEAT THE SEQUENCE. IN ANY CASE IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED BY A SONY AUTHORIZED SERVICER.

6 bliks on sony kp-46wt510

KP46WT510 Shutdown 6 Blinks. 6 Blinks = Low B+ OCP/OVP
SOLUTION: Replaced Flyback transformer. It had no rings on the ringer test.
HQ
Comments: Any load on the B+ line can cause 6 Blinks.
Example: If the 200v line is loaded down will cause a drop in B+ due to bright picture current demand.

Sony KP-51HW40 6 blinks

Hi Yeooow,
I guess you read the fix for my set wth the six-blink error. If not, here's the link:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t647530-tv_couldnt_turn_no_picture
My set is a KP-53HS30, chassis number P65A-A.
I found a bulged capacitor on the "G" power supply board and replaced the components associated with that circuit (6-volt regulator). If your set has the P65A chassis, I'd be happy to e-mail you the service manual I have, if it will help.

ITS PROBABLY THE RED PICTURE TUB (CRT). IT LOOKS EASY TO INSTALL, BUT YOU NEED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SCREEN ONCE IT IS INSTALLED. THE PART IS $3OO. TRY TO FIND SOMEONE TO INSTALL IT FOR $150 OR LESS. HERE IS A WEBSITE TO HELP YOU MAKE ADJUSTMENT IN THE FUTURE ON YOU OWN.
