I need the wiring diagram for the point contacts on the back of a dura-glas 1 1/2 hp pool pump. thanks

I would suggest taking a closer look at the motor name plate. I am not familiar with a 120/240 three phase service. When I checked the web it shows: Voltage 115/230 (that is single phase), Max Amps 115 Volts = 19.2 Max Amps 230 Volts = 9.6 , Single Speed, Square Flange, RPM = 3450, Threaded Shaft, Frame = 48Y Used on the following models: Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas, Max-E-Glas II, Dura-Glas, Dura-Glas II, Dyna-Glas, Dyna-Max Pentair Whisperflow, Pinnacle and Anthony AR2 Series. You should also show what voltage you are connected to.

make sure you make a wiring diagram or just unplug the plug from the mother board and search your area for your local pool pump repair guy with free testing. these are a high $$$ motor and not a good one to practice on, save it for a pro ! it might just be a dirty switch or need to be reset I don't charge any thing for that, and while your there ask him how to take better care of your $$$ pump ?

if you have the motor I recommend you have a pro do it. search your area for you're local pool pump motor repair service. cost should be around $20.00 this way its done right and protects the motor from getting damaged. ask them how to take better care of your pump and motor, that's the best pump you can get. sta rite dura glas

None of the above. You hook your two line leads (the two hot 115 lines) to L1 and L2 and you hook up the ground to the green screw. Do NOT connect the neutral to the motor.

To answer your question, yes - you could strip all the wires back and bypass the terminal board but in the long run it will make it much harder to install the part since you will need to put all new terminal ends on including a female pin style that requires a special crimper.

I assume you mean the white wire under the rear motor cover? If so Sta-Rite puts a wiring diagram inside this back cover. Hopefully it is still intact for you. Depending on your model and if it is wired for 115vac or 220vac will make a difference. I would suggest you go to the link I attached and look up your manual. The manual will have the wiring diagram for you.

Pump is heating up and kicking the breaker try cleaning the pump filter and let me know by posting to this solution.

Lock the shaft at the end where you electrical connections are made (disconnected of course!) and spin it off counterclockwise.

The wire placement does not matter assuming you have a 115 volt supply with a three wire cord/cable and they are comming in as blk=hot, white=neutral and copper=ground.

Tripping a breaker would be from a shorted hot wire so look for a place where it touches the white or ground wires or the metal of the motor. Another cause would be if you really have 230V across the black and white and you connect it to a motor set for 115V. Is the breaker that turns off the circuit in question a signle wide or a double wide breaker. A double wide would be 230V.
