When you have split and seperated the part of the viceo you want to put onto a dvd, highlight it on the list of recordings and press the blue "playlist +" button on the remote. This will have added the recording onto the list of items to be recorded to dvd. Now press the red "RECORD/DUB" button. This will then record the file to the disc.

When y ou are notified that the process is complete, you will need to finalise the disc in order for it to be playable on other machines.
While the DVD is still in the drive uses the blue "function" button, and select DVD.
Shortly a list of titles on the DVD you have recorded will appear. Press the "UP" arrow on the remote once and a new menu will appear. One of the options here is to finalize disc. hilght this option and click the "RIGHT" arrow once - press "select" to finalise the disc.

Progresive scan problem and didn't get picture in tv

Our problem was that we could not get picture on the tv screen but it got sound. We tried to solve it using different techniques like the setup, video source, function keys pressed on remote control by trial(only assumed) and error as we could not see the screen and I used scart with every conection but three point pin was free so I put only one pin in video out put and at that moment I could see the picture on tv.

Wharfedale DVD- 265 saying invalid disc

Check and see if there is dust or dirt or something on the lens. Dirt, grease and fingerprints will cause a DVD player to have read errors.
If it a new player, or under warranty, get it replaced. It sounds like it is failing.

Hope that helped.

Wharfedale DS-A243 HDMI Upscaler wont play HD DVD

Hi, sorry to have break it to you but your self diagnosis was correct! It is a 'normal' DVD player that upscales and will NOT play HD discs.

We have a wharfedale dvdr24hdmi player recorder but the hddvd we have purchased will not play.A note inside the dvd disc suggests we consult yourselves for a firmware or software update.

The wharfedale dvdr24 is an upscaling dvd player and not a hd dvd player which is why it wont recognise the disc you are trying to play.

HDMI just means that it connects to your tv via an hdmi cable, so unfortunatley you'll need to buy a hd dvd player to play your disc.

Wharfedale DVDRHD400 Set up Issue

Hi I had the same problem. The answer is to use a scart lead on the freeview box and connect it to the input/output scart on the DVD. Then connect a scart lead from the TV out on the DVD to the TV. You then press Video source on the DVD remote until 'scart' is displayed to pick the freeview channels. Hope that helps
