If you have the sound card installed in the system or it is built intyo the board and you are looking for just the drivers for this simply search for vinalac97. and install this utility driver it is totally free and it works wonders on almost all windows applicatilons
Included with this down loasd is a really neat equlizer for the device

Assuming you're running Windows XP or 2000, you can download the PCI 128 Sound Card Driver Installation programs here:

http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=255. (They are free of charge, of course).

When you launch the program, it detects your operating system information and automatically installs the appropriate drivers.

If you're running something other than Windows XP or 2000, go here: http://support.creative.com/Downloads/searchdownloads.aspx to find additional driver installation packages.

1st Download Driver from this site Intel Sound Driver
Installation of Sound Card.

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Multimedia Controller or Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.

if the sound card has fried then that would be the least troublesome and best bet
