The f2 code means the their is a problem with the oven sensor
the sensor is a electronic thermostat if you know where to find in to check it unplug it and insert meter leads set to ohms setting, at room temp. the meter should show between 1060-1100 ohms (in the midsts of this heat wave it may be up to 1150 ohms) if the reading is higher or lower than that the sensor should be replaced

I keep getting the following error message: E6 F2 - what does this mean?

If you have a Whirlpool oven, the F2 E6 error means that the Cancel key line is open. You will need to replace the keypad or the keypad and controller board (if a single assembly) if the keypad doesn't respond to a press of the Cancel Key.

I hope this helps.

I self cleaned the oven and over 12 hours later am getting a f2 error. How do I fix it?

Hello,

The F2 error code means that the oven over heated by at least 100 degrees and the oven temp.sensor needs to be replaced.

On the self clean cycle the oven temp can easily reach over 600 dergees and therefore the sensor thinks it got too hot. If you have not already done so the F2 can be cleared by pushing the CLEAR/OFF button on the control...if the F2 error code reappears the sensor has became defective and it would need to be replaced.

When I turn the GE oven on sometimes it works fine other times it will shut off. When it shuts off it will give the F2 or F3 error sign. Can you please tell me what this means? Thanks

Hi, the F2 Error code means the oven has detected an excess temperature condition. Most often this is due to a bad temperature sensor - the sensor costs about $75 from an online repair site.
The "F3" error code means the oven sensor is open, I suggest you flip breaker off then back, on Re check for error, if OK fine if not turn back off and fix or call for service man...

Error code f2

This usually means the oven detected an over-temperature condition (although F2 meaning varies by model). This can be caused by a faulty temperature sensor or a failed control board. Many of the control boards for the older models have been discontinued. We repair these at www.fixyourboard.com.
