i downloaded the photos from my HTC mobile to my PC, but they could not
be read because they are in MENC format, so i want to convert them to
JPG in my PC. how can i do this
Menc states a file name which is either can be a file transferred from pocketpc mobiles in which the encryption is 'on' and so it aves in .menc extensions. If you want to convert those files then you need to turn the encryption 'off' on your pocket pc and then transfer data to any source for changes. If the menc file is from a camera or some other source then you need to have a converter software to convert those files in the format u like. here is the software name which can help you out: RealJPEG- Image converter to JPEG
Apparently the files are encrypted and can be decrypted only on the handset/Mobile unit it was encrypted on.
To prevent getting such file type in the future, follow this procedure
Start>Settings>System Tab>Encryption
UnCheck on encryption and after this you will get only normal (Unencrypted file).
Another way is the activesync way. Transfer the file from the handset to pc via ActiveSync, it will automatically decrypt and paste the regular format on to your PC.

If .menc is an image file, try Irfanview, it is a piece of software that supports lots of image file formats, and converts them.
