Hi Sirs, I have a Poulan Woodshark model 1950. The gas lines deteriorated and I bought new ones, together with the primer bulb and the chain. Now I can't remember how to connect the lines. I need help. This chainsaw never started easily. I finally I observed that the lines were leaking gas. Best regards, Rigoberto.

This the basic plumbing diagram for remote primer. Both the carburetor and fuel may look different on your setup as your would gave either a Walbro WT324 pr a Zama C1Q-W8 carburetor.

Depending on which carb you have, it should be the one on the choke side of the carb, closest to the top.

Depending on the carb you have, the short side of the primer bulb goes to the carb and the long side of the primer goes to the fuel tank as the return line. The fuel line on the right side of the carb goes to the fuel tank and is the one with the fuel filter.

You should have 2 to the tank, the one with filter coming from tank goes to nipple on right side of carb, the nipple on left side by primer bulb goes to primer bulb and other from primer bulb back to tank as return line, how it should work is when you push primer bulb it pulls fuel from tank through carb and back to tank on return line so watch in tank orleave one line out that you think is return line and see if gas comes out when you prime, but remember it goes through the carb first before it goes back to tank, had a pic but too big to put on site sorry, 2StrokeJim

Checked all the parts lists, they seem to use the same primer through all types no.s part no. 530047213.

There are 7 different types of the 1950 model (types 1 - 7) and it came with one of these 2 carbs Walbro or Zama. The carbs are different as are the fuel line connections for each one.
Although this video is for the promer bulb you can see the routing of the fuel lines.

You will have one line from the fuel tank connecting to primer bulb the 2nd line going to the carb. If you connect it backward it does not pump fuel into the carb.

(FYI Types 1 - 5 all have the same fuel line routing.)

The lines should be connected to push fuel into the carburetor. The output (overflow) of the carb is routed back into the tank. So, two lines in the tank, one is an overflow (return) and the other is the suction. On the primer one line from the tank and the other to the carb. Connect so as to "push" fuel into the carb when the primer bulb is pushed.

Change out the primer bulb and the small gas lines going to carb and primer. One of these has a small crack to let air get by and this is how you get a flat primer bulb. Pick the kit up at lowes for $6-8.

Replace the fuel filter. Sounds like you have the primer lines hooked up backwards.

The smaller line comes from the fuel filter in the tank to the nipple on the side of the carb with the cover w/ 1large screw in the center, the other small line goes from the other nipple on the carb to the primer bulb, the larger line goes from the other nipple on the primer bulb back to the tank, and only gets pushed in about 1/2-3/4" into the tank. Hope this helps.
