Why is my Powerbolt 1000 unit beeping?

To determine why your lock is beeping abnormally, please follow these steps:

Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
If it does not beep, the keypad needs to be replaced (17733-1).
If the unit continues to beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced (A17734-3,3 Powerboard 1470 brass finish; A17734-3,26D Powerboard 1470 satin chrome finish; A17734-3,5 Powerboard 1470 antique brass finish).

The complete page that I cut this from can be found by cutting and pasting this link into your browser search bar:

http://www.weiserlock.com/Support/Faq/50160000000HhhZAAS.aspx

This suggests that you need to replace the appropriate Powerboard for your lock.
So this is the link to Weiser Customer Support Page:

http://www.weiserlock.com/en/CustomerService/ProductSupport/SupportContact.aspx

I suggest calling the appropriate toll-free number and having a conversation with a representative about this problem, first of all to confirm that you need the part before you go through the expense. Secondly, your lock may be new enough for you to talk them into warrantying it, and thirdly, they will be able to get the correct part on order for you.

Good luck!

Unit is functioning o.k., but getting green light flashes about every 10 seconds. Batteries and connections are o.k.. Can't find anything in the manual or on Weiser website as to a solution.

reset all code and retry...

  1. To program the first code, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  2. To program the second code, press the reset button twice , then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.
  3. To program the third code, press the reset button 3 time, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.

Lock beeps every 10minutes changed batteries still does it

check that the keypad is not defective. You can disconnect the batteries and then unplug the keypad. Now put the batteries in without the keypad connected. If the beeping stopped, your keypad may need replacing. http://www.weiserlock.com/en/SupportPortal/SuggestedFaqs.aspx?prod=FAQ+Categories_Keyless+Entry_Power+Bolt+1000

You can get a replacement at the store where you bought it for free or call the Weiser support line and they will mail you one for free.

We are trying to reset a security code for our existing weiser lock and it isn't taking the new code entered.

  1. To program the first code, press the reset button once, then enter your 4-8 digit code on the exterior keypad, then immediately press the middle lock button on the exterior keypad. You will hear a beep. This signals that your code has been accepted.

Weiser Lock keyless entry alarm is goes on and off randomly

Same here. I have found that unplugging the keypad connector relieves the beeping problem, but of course this isn't a solution except to suggest that the keypad is the culprit. Perhaps a replacement keypad is needed? Contact their customer service - http://www.weiserlock.com/en/Products/SmartSeries/Powerbolt.aspx

Changed the batteries but the Weiser keypad lock keeps beeping

Mine did that too for a month. Make sure all the batteries are new alkaline batteries of the same brand, and remove them for a few minutes (if already installed) and replace them in the unit. I reset my code as well afterword. Did the trick for me.

Powerbolt 1000 started beeping and quit functioning

  • Take out batteries and unplug powerstrip.
  • Let it sit for 1 minute, then put the batteries back in and wait another minute.
I contacted customer support... they tell me the FAQ information on their own website is incorrect. The opposite is true, therefore the following is correct:
  • If it does not beep, the powerboard needs to be replaced
  • If the unit continues to beep, the keypad needs to be replaced
Here in Canada, they will send you a new one within 3-5 days free of charge. Call customer support:

Canada: 800-501-9471
US: 800-677-LOCK

The woman was very friendly. Great customer support!
