Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
To fix any you vacuum problem, a proper maintenance will do the trick. Most of the time cleaning the filters, checking for blockages and clearing the passageways, and cleaning the brush roll assembly will resolve this. And if after doing maintenance it is still the same, that replacing the parts will most of the time make your vacuum work like brand new.
You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Dyson replacement parts for your Dyson Vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

My dyson cyclone assembly will not spin when it...
Posted by littleladysc on Jun 18, 2008
I have 2 dyson dc07. The cyclone assembly will not spin when dirt is picked up, but when I change them out the vacuum is fine, so I know it is the cyclone assembly. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum.
It sounds to me that you may have a clog but when you said you changed them out the vacuum is fine, so a couple of things, if the vacuum is still under a factory warranty of 1 or 2 years the cyclone assm still would be under a factory warranty. If it is over the 1 or 2 years then you would have to replace the cyclone assm but you may want to check with the Dyson Factory Tech Support / customer Service line as per the problem, and they can ship you the part from the factory or to check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area and they may have one in stock or they can order one for you. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hi
If the Dyson is throwing out dirt at the back, it could be three possibilities:
1) The main floor head suction channel is blocked. Check the sole plate where the beater bar is, or if you have a cylinder/pull along model check the floor heads and main extension pipes.
2) Check all the inspection tubes especially the bottom part where the main handle hose is. Also check the filters are clean as well as the Cyclone shroud honeycombs are completely unclogged. Use of the upholstery brush is ideal for dust removal on the cyclones.
3) Check the main inspection areas on the Dyson as sometimes a back log of clogged dirt can get stuck. Also check the dust channel points when then bin is taken out.
Hope all this helps!

there is a clog. check the hose, and the entry to the canister, check the holes inside the canister and check / clean your filter. also remove any threads/ animal hair from the brush so i can freely grab the carpet :)

You can take this apart. There is a very good detailed explanation of how to do this here: http://www.exonotes.com/content/node/4
I have done it. Now it sucks like new!

This may sound silly, but it sounds like that you a have static electricity problem. If the dust is collecting on top (outside of the brush head that is probably the static attracting it. This is common during the colder months. You know how during these months when you walk across carpet and then just someone or a metal objest, you get a shock.
You might try lightly spraying a little "static guard" on the top of the brush head before using it, or using a carpet dusting product that smells good, and may reduce the static.
