Hello
Before any expert can assist you we will need the make and the model printer. Thanks
You must select it from the lists of products and model numbers when you post the problem. The information is not carried over from the web search engine that shows Fixya as a source of repair and information.
Give me some time to look this up. Thanks
According to the repair manual the code you gave 2A is not what you said, it is "Belt cleaner release sensor error" Here is a link to the service manual: http://www.scribd.com/doc/15024880/mfc98...
The code definition's are on page 22 of the pdf document.
Did you look at the service manual I sent a link to? It is the FACTORY manual.
Go to page 29.
I have never repaired one of these, just read the service manual for the 1st time. Based on what it is saying you can have a defective printed circuit board (PCB) that is causing the problem, it will take a trained Brother technican with eyes on to decide the exact nature of the problem.

Brother mfc 9840cdw is the printer. I had put that info in the first querries
well do you have the information you need now to pursue possible solutions?
THen the blogs were mistaken. I had looked for the error code in the manual and could not find it. That said,
Can you direct me to the page of the where this belt is located and what I might need to do to clear this error
It is the harness belt release lever sometimes tied to the waste toner box. They list 5 possible problems including a new engine. Can you direct me to the locatioin of the harness belt release lever? I assume it is on or around the waste toner box but have not been able to find the page in the 400 page manual that shows that.
still have not heard back on loaction or link to picture showing location of harness release belt lever inquired about. as i said, ia assume it is close to the waste toner boxes as this is one of the possible problems with the printer
