I'll need more specifications on your entire system configuration to be sure, but I'd say off the top of my head it is likely a RAM issue - as in not enough RAM to complete the operations you are requesting. Can you give specifics as to how much RAM your server has, how much RAM each of the clients have, etc.?
Probably because the scan2PDF is using twain drivers. The reason why you get an error message is because the ip settings that it needs in the device settings to scan via network is not configured correctly. That is why it times out because it cannot communicate without the ip adress
Read the Manual (comes with Tool). If you don't have the Tool download it from the Canon site. Go to the copier and press the System/Options button next to Copy/Mailbox/Fax. Press Online. Then try scanning. Go back to copier and press Offline so can photocopy again.
run the network scangear utility from the start menu. Click "discover scanner", when the discovery is finished select your copier and then click apply.
Generally all in one devices have problem with drivers!!! The main problem is communication between computer and printer!! Try to find another driver or reinstall the old ones!!!
