SOURCE: Numark ttx turntable

More than likely the drive IC (integrated circuit) has shorted, and needs to be replaced. Not an easy fix, and you'll have to take it to a service center for replacement.

This is a common problem on this turntable.

SOURCE: my numark tt1625 turntables keep

If you could be a little more specific, we might be able to help you out better.

Does it slow down, when you do anything, or after a long period of time of being on/used? Or as soon as you turn it on, it slows down?

Any specific information would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Too slow?

http://www.archive.org/details/Turntable_Belt_Installation

above is a generic video that applies to almost all belt driven turntables including yours that will show how to install the belt and a few other things.

this can be caused be a new belt being too wide, you may need a narrower belt.

SOURCE: help for technics 1200 MK2 and 1210 Speed is too fast

On the 1200MK2 the pitch control slider is for just that purpose. Disregard the 0 setting and use the illuminated strobe marks on the platter to adjust to nominal speed. When they appear to be motionless you are there. The control on the 1210 may be a knob but the same principles apply.

How do i hook a numark tt 1625 turntable to a regular home stereo amplifier...does the ground need to go into anything specific?

Turntables require a special input in the amp (usually marked PHONO) because they require high gain and different equalization - and yes, that ground wire has to go to ground unless you want to get a super annoying 60Hz hum from it!
If your amp doesn't have a phono input, you're going to have to go out and get a phono pre-amp and connect it between the turntable and the amp.
Best of luck!

How do I get my sound from my Numark TT1625 to play through my DVD/CD speakers?

You need a magnetic cartridge preamp. You then plug your turntable into it and the box into the CD/aux imput of your amp.

Tone Arm acting as arial

A metal tone arm has a ground wire that connects it to the back of the stereo via the Turntable chassis. If this wire is broken (inside the deck of the turntable) or the ground to the stereo is not done, you can have this issue. No, the ground through the audio connectors is not sufficient.

Numark TTX-1 turntable starts slow but then is okay.

A drop or two of light oil at the center of the spindle will surely solve the problem.Remove the platter and check if its clean

Second hand decks

The unit should not be making any sounds like that. It sounds like the timing is off for the gearing underneath the platter. It may be as simple as cleaning the existing grease on the mechanism and re-lubing. The existing grease may have gummed up a bit not allowing the parts to move freely. Take of the bottom and look at the condition of the grease.
