My Verizon LG EnV3 is saying Use genuine battery and then powers down in 10 seconds. I've tried most of the suggestions people have posted and they haven't worked. Please help! I don't kno

I had 3 Verizon LG VX 5500 and 1 told me the same thing. I just ask a friend for an old phone and then I activate it on the verizon website and no problem... it can't be fixed once is asking you for a GENUINE BATTERY, you need to get another phone. Also you can get the same phone in ebay (used) and activated it yourself.

I have an enV 2, about 2-3 years old.I dropped my phone in the toilet, for 3 seconds, dried it with a towel, let it sit for 5 mins, put it in front of a fan for about 7 mins, and put it in rice for 30...

Yo! the drying system you used is not enough to dry it. you need to open it up to the best you can and dry under the sun for hours or under **** heat. that should do. thanks

My LG dare has a battery problem. when i go to turn on the phone, it says "use genuine battery....Power Off." Then counts back from 10 and turns itself off. what does this mean?

The batter has failed, you need a new battery, take it to the store if it is under warranty call your service provider and they will either issue you a new battery or a new phone.

When turned on says "Use genuine battery" and when try to charge

I had the same "Replace with genuine battery" then the 10.9.8.7... countdown. Thought the damn thing was going to blow up!! Verizon switched batteries and told me the phone was dead and that they couldn't get any of my contact phone numbers off of it. Wanted to stick the ticking time bomb up their you know what. Never had any problems with the phone let alone never getting it wet. Anyway I didn't fall for their buy a new phone scheme and left the non customer service store fuming. The next day I had an old dinosaur Verizon phone activated to at least have a phone. Went home and checked a few websites for advice. One I came across made the most sense. Rubbing alcohol on the battery contacts and blow dry off using a hair dryer on the cold position for 20 minutes. Use a cotton swab and gently wipe the battery prong contacts on the phone itself as well as the battery contacts. I also wiped down the inside of the battery charging slot. Popped the battery back in and just like magic..... the phone was back from the dead. Told Verizon about the cure and they shrugged their shoulders. This works trust me and don't fall for their buy another new phone gimmick. Can you hear me now? NOOOOO

Lg vx8100 error message on screen: use genuine battery. power off 10 sec cuts off

Not exactly a solution. I tried leaving it off overnight and tried it several times after removing and inserting the batteries. I also cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and a Q tip. It did not fix it. But I just left it off for 2 days meaning to go to the Verizon store and get it fixed or replaced. But I turned it on now and it fixed itself! Model VX8300. Maybe the contact cleaning did it but it had to dry more. You can use a Q Tip dipped in a cup of water with a teaspoon of Mr.Clean. But then rinse it with a water wet Q tip and then dry it with a paper towel. I used contact cleaner.
