Hi, your phone IMEI is a number which is unique to every GSM mobile phone. It is usually found printed on or underneath the phone's battery and warranty card. IMEI of any set can also be found by dialing the sequence *#06# into the phone. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network.
For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call Authorities (service provider) and instruct them to "block" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed.

You need to contact your cell phone carrier (verizon, cingular ect) and tell them your phone was stolen, and give them the IMEI number. They will send a signal over the network locking the phone.

Phone your service provider, tell them its been stolen, if its being used they will send a text to that phone which will disable it from being able to be used. As for tracking it has to have GPS installed in the original software.

The best thing to do is to phone your mobile service provider and report the phone as stolen and they will put a block on the mobile phones IMEI number. You need to do this asap to avoid any costs that may be placed before the block is put on by the provider.
